Jayan

The project

Jayan is a three-bedroom villa in the Montagnac-sur-Lède valley, on the border of the Lot-et-Garonne and the Dordogne in southwest France. It sleeps six, has a 12m by 6m salt-water pool and a separate garden studio, and sits down a private road with views in every direction, forty minutes from Bergerac airport.

One family has owned it for twenty-five years and renovated it throughout, letting it by the week from May to October. The site is where guests find it, look through the rooms, see which weeks are still free and enquire directly, rather than through a listing agency.

I designed and built it on Next.js 16 and React 19, in TypeScript and Tailwind. It is localised into seven languages with next-intl: English, French, Spanish, German, Chinese, Japanese and Arabic, the last of which flips the whole layout right to left.

The pages carry a gallery with a lightbox, an availability calendar covering the Saturday to Saturday weeks of the season, seasonal rates in euros with a sterling estimate the visitor can adjust to the day's rate, guest reviews and an enquiry route to the owners. PostHog handles analytics, and it deploys on Vercel.
